Our P22 gunboat achieved aims:
Now a unique tourist attraction for Sandwich Town, especially relevant now as P22 took part in the 150 million pound blockbuster movie “Dunkirk” released in 2017
Now open as a working Museum. The vessel has Charitable Trust status and
Now has a passenger certificate for cruises for up to 12 passengers on the historic river Stour down to the mouth of the Estuary at Pegwell Bay
To: become a centre for War Veterans to meet up with their peers to recollect their life stories and if they wish, to record them for future visitors information. We would “at no charge” take them into the Bay on P22 with their friends and families to enjoy past recollections hopefully along with tea and cake!
To: join with visually authentic US Navy re-enactment groups, and help bring P22 alive for veterans and tourists.
We have already taken part in Sandwich & Ramsgate attractions and are booked in with the next Sandwich 40’s weekend in May and the Ramsgate Harbour History festival in June.
There are also plans to put on other free music and shows from the deck of P22 at Sandwich quay during the Summer.
